Starla - A reimplementation of the RIPE Atlas Software Probe

starla is my rewrite of the RIPE Atlas Software Probe in Rust. It’s a single self-contained static binary which implements all of the measurements that the original probe has in exactly the same way as the original probe. It is a drop-in replacement.

starla is cross-platform and has a tray applet for Desktop systems. There are headless variants as well. starla is packaged for Nix, Ubuntu, Fedora, Docker, MacOS, and Windows. Read starla documentation at Starla - RIPE Atlas Software Probe.

This is very cool, thanks for doing it. Runs well on NixOS. I have a question however - the old probe reported IPv4 as well as IPv6, Starla (so far) only seems to report IPv4. The host runs dual stack. Is this expected and/or do I just need to wait some time for it to show up? It’s been running since yesterday.
