Probe and Anchor in same network?

Hi

I host a probe since a while in a rack in a datacenter. I’m now in the process to get an anchor running in that same rack. Should I keep the existing probe ? or recycle it for an other site ?

Does it have a technical interest ?

Hi, as a semi-official answer: an anchor is also a probe - so having a probe sitting just next to it is somewhat redundant; though a little redundancy is not a real problem. I’d say if you can find a better place (geographically, topologically) for the probe then it’s better to move that. Once the anchor is up of course.

Thanks for confirming what I was thinking already that it was quite redundant. As the Anchor is now up and fully running since 2 days I’m going to decommission the existing probe and reuse it for an other site :wink:
