Hey,
I am currently trying to buy hardware for atlas anchor to be placed within our network. Unfortunately page listed in the automatic-email I got after registration list no spec or vendors.
Other page I found in atlas doc links to the manufacturer in US - however hardware looks very much different than the photos in ripe’s doc (maybe just different housing - but still) … plus I had not found vendor of this particular hardware in Europe.
The only decent links I found by googling are to the online shop of meconet (which is also the only reference from this forum and ripes mailing lists and the only one looking alike) - however when I have contacted them I have received the response that they “do not produce this hardware since more then 2 years”.
Last peace of info I found is the pdf on ripes site which lists soekris-net650170 as the hardware … which also does not seams to be in business anymore.
As this is ‘highly specialized’ peace of hardware I would likely not be able to repurpose for anything else if I get the wrong one - can anyone share contact to European vendor who can provide us with what we need ?
Hi,
Anchor hardware we’ve tested and recommend can be found on this page:
For hosts in Europe, the Protectli Vault FW2B - 2 Port model is available and its required specifications for Anchor operation is listed here:
We’ll also work on clarifying the emails so this is easier to find, thanks for reaching out and for hosting!

Hi Sean,
Thanks for confirmation - equipment is on order and I hope to set it up mid-next week. BTW - it seams exact hard drives you reference in doc are no longer available so I have ordered larger one which was in stock.
As to documentation and ‘understanding’ for someone new to the subject I was somehow under impression I need to look for dedicated hardware looking something like the one in here RIPE Atlas docs | RIPE Atlas Anchor V3 | Docs with internally redundant networking / PSU / storage etc rather than OEM style SBC. When I think about it - including the photos and linking to this page in the initial email would probably had helped a lot.
