Power cuts across the UK - could Ripe Atlas map these?

For last couple of weeks there have been a bunch of power cuts across the UK - which are pretty rare for most of the UK for the last decade or two.

At a guess, a lot of Ripe Atlas probes (and/or the broad band routers (& co) they depend on) are not backed by a UPS. Even those with a UPS would be unlikely to last 6 hours - as per outage on Southampton today.

Fascinating to see if Ripe Atlas probe data could be harnessed to map these outages.

Slightly off topic wrt the project’s core purpose - but its resilience is an accessible proxy for that of wider infrastructure.

Hi, we can produce such visualisations to see if they are meaningful for this case. What would help here is if there was an (approximate) list of times+locations about where/when outages happened.
